Winter this year was a bust here in the North Woods, but now it’s mid-March and we’ve gotten off to an early start with spring migration! Many Trumpeter Swans are back, along with Mallard Ducks and Canada Geese. But one of the best parts of spring for an Outdoor Photographer is getting to see birds that migrate through this area on the way to their summer nesting grounds. They don’t stick around these parts, soLearn More

Great Horned Owls Still Nesting
This past week, I’ve had a chance to meet a couple of new neighbors! I discovered a Great Horned Owl nest in one of my favorite local parks less than a mile from my home. What’s particularly unusual about this nest isn’t that it’s in this park, or that Great Horned Owls have occupied it, but that one of the two owlets is still in the nest on May 1! The other nest I’ve beenLearn More
